Banco BNI Europe executive chairman Pedro Pinto Coelho is the first guest speaker announced for the FinTech Investor Forum in London on November 8.
Coehlo will be speaking alongside a number of other distinguished banking CEOs and heads of innovation on the Bank Innovation panel. The event brings together 100 FinTech investment firms and financial institutions with CEOs of successful FinTech startups and scale-ups.
Spending more than two years at Banco BNI Europa, Coehlo has introduced innovative products and helped establish extensive FinTech partnerships, turning the firm into Portugal’s fastest growing digital-only bank.
Coehlo has more than 20 years of international experience in the financial services industry across three continents.
He founded private equity firm Amorim Global Investors in 2008, creating an asset manager with outstanding analysts providing detailed strategic and financial guidance for new investment opportunities.
A year later he established Standard Bank Angola, growing the bank from an office of six employees to an award-winning profitable service bank with $1.7bn in assets.
Coehlo became CEO at Swiss wealth manager Azure Wealth in 2015, responsible for the firm’s growth in Switzerland and expansion to emerging markets, and served on the board at Standard Bank Mozambique.
He has also served as head of CitiGroup’s Portuguese investment banking arm.
He currently offers his expertise as chairman of the Portuguese FinTech and InsurTech Association, helping to develop the sectors in the burgeoning nation.
