Hoxton Partners partner Hussein Kanji is the next guest speaker to be announced for the FinTech Investor Forum in London on November 8.
Kanji will speak alongside a number of other distinguished banking CEOs and heads of innovation on the Bank Innovation panel. The event brings together 100 FinTech investment firms and financial institutions with CEOs of successful FinTech startups and scale-ups.
Hoxton Ventures is a $40m early stage venture capital firm which has focuses on being the first venture capital investor into a company. The firm makes investments from as small as $250,000 into seed company’s or up to $2m to serve as a led in a funding round.
Currently Kanji serves as a board observer of Hoxton-backed Darktrace, which is a machine learning cyber security platform used by financial institutions like TSB Bank, Metro Bank and ALMA bank. Darktrace raised a $75m Series D funding round earlier this year and followed a $65m Series C round in 2016.
Alongside Darktrace, Kanji has served as the board observer of companies like Babylon Health and Deliveroo. Other positions he currently holds are non-executive director positions at Yieldify, Behavox and POPxo.
Kanji has also taken part in various angel investments having backed companies including Exceptional.io, which was acquired by Rackspace, Exclusively.in, which was acquired by Myntra, and Flypost, which was acquired by Avira. Another company he has backed is payment solution provider GoCardless, which closed a new $22.5m investment from firms including Accel and Balderton Capital, last month.
Over the years, Kanji has served as the senior manager at Microsoft and an associate at investment firm Accel Partners.
