Route Sixty-Six Ventures principal Dan Dall’Asta is the latest guest speaker announced for the FinTech Investor Forum in London on November 8.
Dall’Asta will be speaking alongside a number of other distinguished banking CEOs and heads of innovation on the Bank Innovation panel. The event brings together 100 FinTech investment firms and financial institutions with CEOs of successful FinTech startups and scale-ups.
Joining Route 66 in 2013, Dall’Asta is responsible for venture capital and private equity investments made by the firm. After reviewing a company’s management team, value proposition, market opportunity and growth potential, he is able to ensure the best investments to make a strong portfolio.
His aim is to help Route 66 become the leading global investor in the FinTech and FinServ ecosystem, as well as helping businesses to reach this maximum potential.
Dall’Asta also sits on the board of several of Route 66’s backed ventures, including 8 Securities, CompareAsia Group, DriveWealth, Hedgeable, Mirror and Quantemplate. Alongside these, he is board observer at Bunker and Tandem.
Earlier this year the firm took part in business insurance provider Bunker’s $6m Series A. The capital raised in this round will be used to help with the development of more insurance products to keep up with consumer demand.
Prior to his time at Route 66, Dall’Asta was an investment banker, working at Stanford Group Company and Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York. During his career at Merrill Lynch, where he worked between 2011 and 2013, he specialised in the mergers and acquisitions, as well as private equity and debt offerings.
Dall’Asta has also spent a lot of time doing volunteer, working with City Year Washington DC to help improve graduation rates for high-poverty communities.
